The National Gallery boasts a collection of about 700 works ranging from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century, including Benedetto Antelami, Correggio, Parmigianino, Leonardo Da Vinci, Beato Angelico, El Greco, Canaletto to Renato Guttuso.

The Teatro Farnese, since 1986 has been the entrance to the National Gallery and offers a unique show.It was built at the behest of Duke Ranuccio I Farnese in 1617. Bombed and destroyed in May 1944 it was rebuilt between 1956 and 1965, respecting the original.
