Corchia is a small hamlet in the municipality of Berceto, in the province of Parma; the town still preserves its medieval core composed of stone houses separated by paved paths. The town is 4.78 km from the capital.
The Copper Mines, originally drilled in 1865 in several places on the sides of Groppo Maggio, were connected to the town with a cableway in 1937, but were finally closed in 1943; in the early years of the 21st century, one of the mines, reachable via one of the paths in the woods once used by mules to transport excavation materials, was made safe by the Province of Parma and opened to visitors.
