The museum was opened in 1963, and is the oldest printing museum in Italy. Piedmontese printer Gian Battista Bodoni made Parma the world capital of printing in the second half of the 18th century by creating elegant typefaces and his refined editions.

Inside the museum you can admire extremely rare editions, a printing press reconstruction faithful to the original, the various punches and dies that belonged to the Bodoni printing house, and about 12,000 letters. So much more you will find inside the third floor of the Palatine Library where the museum is located.

Address : At the Complesso monumentale della Pilotta, Strada alla Pilotta, 3, 43100 Parma PR
