The Noceto Typography Museum: A Journey Through the History of Printing
Located in the heart of Noceto, the "Fernando Libassi" Typography Museum offers a fascinating overview of the history of printing and typographic art. This exhibition space was created to preserve and enhance the heritage of the ancient "La Grafica Nocetana" printing house, collecting machinery and tools used over the centuries.
Among the most significant pieces of the collection are the Dall'Orto press from the second half of the 19th century, still in perfect working order, and a selection of historic printing machines, including a pedal press from Officine Meccaniche Monzesi and a 19th-century flatbed machine from Fratelli Mordini. The exhibition is completed by a wide variety of typographic characters, threads and decorations used for traditional printing.
The museum represents an important testimony to the evolution of printing techniques and typographic craftsmanship, offering visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in an era in which printing was an art of precision and mastery. Open to students, enthusiasts and scholars of the sector, the museum is a real journey into the past of written communication.
