Varsi Castle is an ancient medieval fortress located in the heart of the town of Varsi, in the province of Parma. Its construction probably dates back to the 10th century, when it was built by the diocese of Piacenza to defend the area. Over the centuries, the castle has changed owners several times, belonging to noble families such as the Malaspina and the Scotti, who have left their mark on the structure.
In the 19th century, the castle underwent major changes following the renovation of the main square of Varsi. Much of the building was demolished, but three corner towers and part of the central body remained intact, which are visible and accessible today. This makes it a place of great historical charm, which attracts visitors interested in the medieval history and beauty of the village.
