Salame di Felino Museum: new location, history and visitor experience
In 2024, the Museo del Salame di Felino moved to the Felino Town Hall (Palazzo Comunale), a historic building that provides a new and modern setting to showcase the story of the famous Salame di Felino PGI.
The museum, now more spacious and easily accessible, offers visitors an engaging journey through the origins and production of this renowned Emilian cured meat. Thanks to multimedia installations and interactive experiences, visitors can explore traditional processing techniques and discover the deep connection between salami and the local gastronomic culture.

History and origins
The tradition of salami production in the Parma area has ancient roots. The first known document referring to salami dates back to 1436, when Niccolò Piccinino, in the service of the Duke of Milan, ordered the procurement of “porchos viginti a carnibus pro sallamine”, meaning twenty pigs to produce salami.
