This town is the most important touristic site of the High Taro Valley; it is nestled in a bucolic landspape made of pasture lands, woods and streams. For many decades, it has been the seat of an Episcopal seminary. Thanks to good aquifers, there’s a factory that bottles mineral water. There are sandstone quarries for the production of "Carniglia" stone and,since many decades, there are crafts which are specialized in manufacture of wood and iron.
