History of Felino Castle
The first news of the castle dates back to the 9th century, when it was built as a defensive structure against barbarian invasions. In the 12th century, it came under the control of the Baratti, a local noble family.
Over the centuries, the castle was contested by various families, including the Pallavicino, the Visconti and the Sforza. In the 15th century, it became the property of the powerful Rossi family, who transformed it into a sumptuous fortified residence.
In 1600, under the rule of the Farnese, it lost its defensive function and became a noble residence. After periods of abandonment and restoration, today the castle is an exclusive location for events and weddings, as well as hosting the Felino Salami Museum.

Architecture and Structure
Felino Castle is a perfect example of a medieval fortress with Renaissance elements:

Quadangular plan with four corner towers.
Mighty walls with moat and drawbridge.

Internal courtyard with elegant loggias.
Frescoed halls, once the residence of the lords of the castle.
Its sturdy walls and strategic position made it a point of reference for the control of the Baganza Valley for centuries.
