The Arena del Sole Theatre in Roccabianca: A Place of Culture and History

The Arena del Sole Theatre in Roccabianca is an important cultural landmark in the Bassa Parmense. Inaugurated in 1946 as an open-air arena, it was later transformed into an indoor cinema. After several years of use, the structure was closed in 1995 and used for other purposes, including a warehouse and gym.

In 2006, the Municipality of Roccabianca purchased the building and began a renovation process to return it to its original function. Today, the theatre is a multipurpose cultural centre, hosting theatre performances, concerts and film screenings. Inside, nine statues by Ettore Ximenes are preserved, once part of the monument to Giuseppe Verdi in Parma.

With its history and its role in the cultural life of the town, the Arena del Sole Theatre is a symbol of the community, capable of combining tradition and innovation.
