The first documented evidence of the Church of San Martino dates back to the 13th century, precisely to 1230. Originally, the building was built in Romanesque style, but over the centuries it has undergone several transformations. In 1453 it was rebuilt in its current location, while between 1725 and 1769 it underwent a major renovation that gave it its current Baroque style.
During these interventions, the church was modified into a single-nave structure, with three side chapels on each side. Among the most notable elements is the chapel of the Holy Rosary, embellished with frescoes by the painter Giuseppe Peroni, an artist from Parma active in the 18th century.
The main altar, dedicated to San Martino, is a fine example of the local baroque style, with elegant and refined decorations. During the 20th century, the building has benefited from several restoration interventions: in 1964 the internal decorations were renewed, while in 2007 there was another intervention for the conservation of the building and its works of art.
